RocBnB & Hostel

Planning a trip to or through Rochester? Interested in spending a night or two or longer with the Little Flower Community? ROCbnb & Hostel (the LFC’s cottage industry) offers dorm-style accommodations, private rooms, and even whole apartments.

Here’s some information from our Air BNB page:

Our luxurious casa. Note: The LFC cannot guarantee the presence of snow for the months of April-October. A room with a view… of a bed and a chair! (Full-sized beds available as well) Our garden, where love is grown (sometimes we grow food, too). The bathroom. This is where the magic happens, people. This is where we eat. We call it, “The Kitchen.” A stay at the LFC is worth it’s weight in (mari)gold! Yes, we realize this doesn’t make any sense, but we never pass up a chance to make a bad pun! It’s a sunflower. Eco-Friendly, Private Room Eco-Friendly, Private Room Eco-Friendly, Private Room Eco-Friendly, Private Room Eco-Friendly, Private Room The LFC Fleet! Pedal to the Metal!

Come spend some time in our community-minded, sustainable-living housing collective. We’re located in one of Rochester’s most scenic and vibrant neighborhoods, close by to Eastman School of Music, George Eastman House, and Rochester Public Market.

The Space

For couples (and those willing to share a sleeping surface) we offer a room with a queen-size bed which can easily accommodate two people. For singles or a pair wishing to have two separate bed, we have accommodations for you as well. For groups of three, we can set you up with the queen-size bed plus a twin.

(Please note that occasionally, due to guests extending stays, whole apartment bookings, and other extenuating circumstances, it may be necessary to provide our guests with a room other than the one pictured in our B & B listing. But we have several comparable rooms, as well as more than one adjacent house now, so rest assured that all of our rooms will feature comfortable beds, comparable amenities, and plenty of warm hospitality!)

Guest Access

There is no end to our supply of towels, pillows and blankets. We also have a disturbing amount of reusable shopping bags (feel free to take one of those as a souvenir when you leave). The toiletries here are plentiful as well. Please help your self to our complimentary selection of soaps, shampoos, shaving creams, skin smoothing lotions, sour stomach remedies, silkifying conditioners, etc. We’ll provide you with a towel as well, so no need to weigh down your luggage with all of those pesky items if you’d rather not do so!

We also offer free wifi, laundry facilities, and all the on-street parking you can handle (with no alternate-side or other restrictions). If you’d prefer to park off-street, we can make a space available for $2 a day. Bicycles are available at a rate of $5/day or $15/week. Rochester is a highly-bikeable city and has some very scenic trails. The buses here even have a special rack for transporting bikes from one destination to the next (in case you’re in the mood for a hybrid commute).

We’re happy to provide pick up/drop off at the train or Megabus/Greyhound/Trailways station as a courtesy to our guests. We can also offer rides to and from the airport, but for this we ask that you pay a fee of $20 as it is quite a bit out of the way for us. You can also catch a taxi for about $30-35 or (and this is possibly the best deal) you can ride the bus directly to/from our home to the airport without a single transfer for only $1 (the only downside being this method takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour).

Interaction with Guests

We’ll gladly show people around. In fact, we prefer to spend as much time with our guests as we can, schedule permitting! We’ll make you breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner depending on when we/you are around. Or, if you’d like to make us dinner, we can show you to Wegmans, the Taj Mahal of grocery stores or (perhaps even better) to the local co-op. Our meals are vegan, and made using local organic ingredients whenever possible. You’re welcome to purchase and eat meat if you’d like, but we would prefer that you do not use our kitchen to cook it.

The Neighborhood

Close by to nightlife, parks, good eats, Eastman School of Music, George Eastman House, the Rochester Public Market, the Riverside Convention Center and much, much more!

Getting around

We live on a busline that’ll get you downtown in 10 minutes for $1!
